The PGA Tour has returned from a two-week tour through Hawaii to begin the 2023 calendar year. This week, the PGA Tour will be at PGA West and La Quinta in California for the 2023 American Express.
The AmEx was held across the Pete Dye Stadium Course (Nicklaus Tournament Course) and La Quinta Country Club. There were a few featured pairings that are worth watching, such as Scottie Scheffler and Tony Finau, as well Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler, and Rickie Foller.
Davis Thompson leads by two shots, having opened his round with 7 under on six of his first holes. On Thursday, he shot a 10-under-62 at La Quinta Country Club. Rahm (La Quinta Country Club) and Sam Burns, (Stadium Course), are part of a group that is 8 under in chasing.
