There are many changes on the leaderboard after the first round of 2023 Tour Championship in Atlanta at East Lake.
Scottie Scheffler, who started the day two shots ahead of his nearest competitor, is now one shot behind at 9 under par after a 1-over-par 71. The No. 1 seed has not held a share of the first-round lead for the first time since the Tour switched to starting strokes format in 2019. The No. 1 seed does not hold at least a portion of the lead in the first round.
Three players are tied for the lead. Collin Morikawa, who shot the lowest score in his Tour career at 9-under 61 to reach 10 under, is also there. Keegan Brad, who shot 7 under 63, and Viktor Hovland who won the BMW Championship last week are also at this number. He shot a 2-under-68 in the opening round to tie the group for the lead.
Rory McIlroy suffering from a back injury carded a 70-par and is three shots ahead.
Here’s all you need to know about the second round 2023 Tour Championship. All times Eastern.
