The first major of the new year is just around the corner. But first, it’s the 2023 Valero Texas open.

TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course hosts the final tournament before the 2023 Masters. Many golfers are hoping to make their way to Augusta National. J.J. Spaun is currently the defending champion. The Oaks Course measures 7,438 yards and is a par 72 layout.

Fog caused play to be delayed for nearly three hours on Thursday. Friday’s field was still open.

After Day 1, Matt Kuchar and Padraig Hrrington are both at 4 under. They hope to earn an invitation for the Masters by winning in San Antonio.
