LeslieAnne Wade , a long-time CBS Sports executive, announced their engagement in May. They were soon married in July . It appears that the couple split just a few months later.
Watson and Wade have been friends for 15 years. They said their vows prior to traveling to the Open Championship in St. Andrews. However, Wade says that an “unexpected illness” prevented them from getting there.
“Over the last few months, I have been singularly focused on a difficult road through unexpected illness. Tom has been supportive, making sure that I get the best care possible. Wade posted via Twitter that he is beyond grateful to him. He also blessed me with a full and complete recovery. “Sadly, we have to end our marriage because we were unable to properly launch and build our relationship in the early days.” I will always be grateful to him for everything and we will remain in touch forever.
