Donald Trump has a long and creative history with golf. Trump has a number of luxurious courses and resorts around the globe. He’s played with some of the most famous names in golf. He’s also been endorsed by some of the best-known golfers around the world. Even besides himself.
The dubious claims of the former president on the course are what make them legendary. Rick Reilly wrote a book entitled Commander in Cheat, a 2019 sportswriter.
Riley wrote that Trump doesn’t cheat at golf. He throws it, boots and moves it. He lies about his lies. He lies about his lies. Trump is a member of Winged Foot. His caddies became so used to watching him kick the ball back onto fairway that they created a nickname for him, “Pele.”
Ask Trump International West Palm Beach members who arrived at the final round for their Senior Club Championship on January 22 to see Trump’s name on the leaderboard. This was despite the fact that he did not play the first round.
He did play a round that week and claimed that he had a great day. He decided to use the score for the Senior Club Championship’s first round. On social media, he called it “great honor” and said that he was hitting the ball straight and long.
People who knew him were certainly not surprised.
Here’s some history Trump has shared with golf.
