This is absurd, even though I have a lot of tattoos.
Nathan Followill, Kings of Leon’s drummer, took to Twitter to express his disgust at a Sydney, Australia “bucket-list” golf course that wouldn’t allow him to show off his tattoos.
Followill wrote in the post, “Welcome back to the 1950’s. It’s a helluva way to grow this game.”
It’s hard not to agree with the rockstars as the game becomes more inclusive and younger. I’m not sure how tattoos can affect a person’s ability to respect the game and golf courses.
Sydney has several world-class courses including Royal Sydney and Alister Mackenzie-designed New South Wales.
Just in time for the fucking it list, a Sydney golf course on my bucket list was added to my fuck list. Due to a “no-tattoo policy”, I was told that I would need to cover my tattoos. Welcome to the 1950s, and how the game can grow.

Although I’d love for this to be a rare policy I can tell you that it is. However, when I interviewed to become an Assistant Golf Professional at one the most prestigious resorts in Florida, I was told that I would need to cover any tattoos or piercings.
