Before the start of the HSBC Women’s World Championship, Nelly Korda and Jessica Korda, their sisters, sat down last week with Kate Burton, HSBC host, to discuss their golf journeys, their mom’s visits, and their tennis role models.
Jessica said, “Mom watches Nelly.” “Nelly requires a butler, basically.”
Nelly was second to Jin Young Ko, Singapore. This came on the heels of a T-6 from Thailand and a fourth at Season-Opening Hilton Grant Vacations Tournament of Champions.
Jessica, who was celebrating her 30th birthday in Singapore, took her first LPGA start since September, after she had been recovering from a back injury. Her rounds were 76-78,79-72. No. 2 and 23 respectively, were the Korda sisters. The LPGA has awarded 14 titles to the combined 2 and 23-year-old Korda sisters.
