Titleist launched its new line of TSR drivers in September. This includes the TSR2, TSR3 & TSR4 models.
“What happened to TSR1?” You may have been wondering.
Titleist did not include a TSR1 in the initial launch, but that doesn’t mean they won’t bring one to market. We’ve seen the delayed release before, if you recall.
Titleist’s TSi2 & TSi3 drivers were launched in October 2020 by Titleist, but the official launch of the TSi1 & TSi4 drivers was not until February 2021. The TSi1 was a lighter-weight design, about 40g lighter in total, that was designed for golfers of moderate speed who can swing the driver at less than 90 mph.
Titleist launched the TSR2, TSR3 & TSR4 drivers simultaneously in September. However, the TSR1 was missing from the family. Is Titleist abandoning the “1” model or just going with a staggered launch?
LPGA Tour player Nelly Korda started using a TSR1 driver prototype in October 2022. GolfWRX now has a TSR1 driver prototype on the PGA Tour.
Zac Blair arrived at the 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open on Tuesday with a Titleist 9-degree driver, to test.
Blair was also available for an interview on Wednesday to discuss the unreleased TSR1. Here is what he had a to say.
Blair stated that he just received it yesterday and has not had much time to play with it. However, the numbers looked good and it sounds great. It has a slightly different look to the TSi1, but it looks pretty good. It has a slightly different head shape than the TSi1, however, it looks really good.
Last year, I took the photo to the left of Titleist TSi1 driver golf.com. This year, Greg Moore, a GolfWRX photographer, took the photo to the right of Blair’s new TSR1 (he won’t be playing the driver this week as he needs more time to dial in and test the driver).
The photos were not taken at the exact angle. What differences can you see in the shaping of the address?

Titleist has not yet provided any information about the TSR1 driver. We’ll have to wait and watch what happens.
