The Facebook page of the Auburn Hills Golf Club lit up at the weekend, after several photos were posted about vandalism on the course.

The course was destroyed by someone who drove their vehicle onto the property of the course in Riner Virginia late Friday night or early Saturday morning. The golf course workers found the practice putting green and the No. 9 green damaged when they arrived to work on Saturday morning. 9 green.

The damage to the golf course’s greens was shocking, said Jeff Gandee, PGA and director of Golf at the course.

The post was seen by more than 100,000 Facebook users. The post stated:

Last night, a vehicle was used to damage the 9 green and putting green. Plus stole the flagstick. Please contact us if you know who caused this damage so that we can speak to them. !

It turns out that a charity tournament was already canceled due to heavy rainfall on Friday.

Gandee stated, “I’ve been at Auburn Hills 15 years and a PGA Professional for 22 years. I have never seen anything as bad before.” “We had trash cans thrown in the woods and a tee mark missing, but nothing like this.” “I get angry when someone makes a divot in the green, but this is worse.”

Gandee says that repairs are already underway.

We don’t know how much this will cost but we are guessing at thousands of dollars. He said it would take time for the grasses to recover and grow after all the stress. “We had sod removed from the left-hand side of No. We patched the damage to our largest green, 17, as best we could. Now that we have rolled and smoothed the area, it is just a matter time before it heals. It will take several months for the area of 17 green, where we removed the sod to heal.

Someone even stole the flagstick off the No. 9 green.

The most important question is: Why?

Gandee stated, “I’d like to track down the person who did this and ask them why. I am guessing that they don’t realize the time and money it takes to maintain a green. “The greens are at the core of every golf course, and it is important that we make them as good as we can.”

The photos of golf course damage were so moving that even non-golfers could not help but be moved.

Even people who don’t play golf have commented because they realize that the greens are the most important part of any golf course. “Even people who don’t golf have commented, because they know that the greens are an important part of any course.”
