Brooks Koepka displays his trophies at his Jupiter, Florida home.

Koepka, in the Netflix documentary “Full Swing”, said: “But I put the big wins up there to remind myself there are plenty more big ones left to win.”

Koepka sank a birdie of 47 feet at hole 17 on Saturday to record the lowest round at Oak Hill the second day in a row – two consecutive rounds of 66 – to gain a one stroke advantage atop leaderboard after 54 holes. Koepka is aiming for his fifth major and the Wanamaker Trophy.

Koepka stated that winning one of the majors would be a great accomplishment. “I just heard that Tiger and Jack are the only two players to have won three times (in modern times), so it would be very special to be included in that list.”

Koepka’s 66 is even more impressive when you consider that Oak Hill was transformed into Soak Hill in the third round.

It was relentless, literally from the beginning of the warm-up until we putted out on the final green. “There was little wind but it didn’t stop the course from playing long, cold, and wet,” said Tommy Fleetwood who shot a 68. “As the rounds progress, it becomes more about survival.”

Koepka has patiently clawed back to the top after a round of 72. Back-to-back birds at Nos. The only bogey he made on the day was at the seventh hole when he had to punch his way out of trouble after pulling his drive to the left. On the second nine, he warmed up his putter and made birdies on Nos. He birdied Nos. 12 and 13, before hitting the long-range bomb on 17.

Koepka finished with a score of 6-under-204.

Koepka holds the lead at 54 holes for the second consecutive major. He defected to LIV Golf in the summer of last year after missing the U.S. Open cut. He admitted he had “choked” at the Masters on Sunday as Jon Rahm won the Green Jacket.

I couldn’t sleep on Sunday night trying to find out what it was. Koepka, who spoke Tuesday, said that he had thought about the incident for several days and focused on what I did and what went wrong. From then on, never let this happen again. It’s the goal of everything, right?
