Michael Block will be golf’s feel good story in 2023.
A PGA professional from California who finishes T-15 at the PGA Championship will automatically be given a place in the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla. It wasn’t the achievement, but the way that he achieved it.
The No. 3 player in the world, a hole-in one on Sunday and viral videos are all part of a series of interviews that took place live at the course. The No.
Block will be in Fort Worth this week to compete in the Charles Schwab Challenge in Colonial. He received an invitation moments after finishing his final round at Oak Hill.
Block’s rise to fame has seen him appear on SportsCenter and Good Morning America. He also appeared in the ForePlay Podcast, as well as several other media outlets, including Bob Menery’s “RipperMagoo” podcast.
Menery asked Block during his episode about the differences between Rory McIlroy and his game.
“He is much longer than me.” He said, “That’s it.”
Block continued to say, “Oh my God.” It would be dumb to shoot where Rory does. “I think I would be the best player in the world.”
