Jonathan Bradley took part in a six man scramble at Franklin Bridge Golf Course in Franklin, Tennessee last week, a tradition that is held annually at the club.
The two-day tournament featured 22 teams, and three flights were created after the first. Each flight had a Calcutta, where 70 percent of pot went to the team that scored the lowest on the second day, and the remainder to the runners-up. The Calcutta for Bradley’s flight contained $30,000 or $21,000 in prize money for the winners.
Bradley’s team was in the lead after Day 1 with 21 under par. They were aiming for the trophy and the large payout.
The club owner noticed Bradley’s swing after he hit his tee-shot on the third green during the second round.
Brooks T. West noted that J.B. Holmes looked similar in a Golf.com story. “And then, he hit and I was like, ‘That is J.B. Holmes.
Holmes, a five time winner on the PGA Tour entered the event under his first and middle names instead of the better known J.B.
Holmes’ team lost its Calcutta entry fee and became ineligible to win the large purse. The team was allowed to compete, however, for the trophy. This award is given to the team that has the lowest two-day score in each flight.
In a reply to a tweet posted on Holmes’ Twitter account, he said: They did not allow us to participate in Calcutta despite the fact that no rules had been broken. The man who bought our team received his money back. What was supposed to be a friendly golfing outing turned into a collection of inaccurate statements.
Ryan French, of Monday Q Info, spoke to a few Franklin Bridge members and said. “Accordingly, one member, after Holmes’ team announcement, the crowd went crazy. Boos began, followed by some random vulgarities. Then, chants of Bullshit! started.”
Holmes did not attend the dinner, but his team took the awards and left quickly.

“If he had just said J.B. Holmes that would have worked,” West told Golf.com.
Holmes has started eight times on the Tour this year. He has missed six cuts, and his best result was at the Genesis Invitational, an event that he won in 2019 over Justin Thomas.
