Rose Zhang took a break from studying to go on a New York City media tour. She stopped first at NBC’s Today Show Plaza, where she spoke about her historical victory at the Mizuho Americas Open. The 20-year old beat Jennifer Kupcho, a major champion who also won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and NCAA championships at Liberty National in a two hole playoff to win her first LPGA title.
Zhang, who won 10 out of her 12 stroke-play tournaments in the last year, revealed to “Today’s” hosts that she had over 500 messages on her phone when she took a moment from her madness and looked.
Zhang said, “I’d describe it as a fantasy so far”, while appearing on ESPN SportsCenter Monday afternoon. It’s been an amazing week. This week could not have been scripted in a better way.

Zhang became a LPGA rookie after accepting membership following her win. Next up for Zhang is the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Baltusrol, followed by the U.S. Women’s Open in Pebble Beach.
Zhang said, “I had a lot media attention when I started the week.” There was a lot going on. It was an amazing feeling to be able to win and execute everything I needed to on the course.

Zhang, after a tour through Manhattan, prepared for the toughest assignment she would face this week: a CS-106A final.
“Currently, I’m still trying to grind it out in that class. The communications major said last week, “It’s been unfortunate for me.” “I’m a communications major, not CS (computer sciences). “Will never code again after taking this class.”
