Allisen Corpuz wins first major at 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach

Allisen Corporation won her first professional tournament and her first major championship of the United States on Sunday. The Women’s Open makes its first ever visit to Pebble Beach.

After making consecutive birdies at Nos. The second-year LPGA player birdied 14 and 15, bringing her to 10 under.

Corpuz parred 16th hole, bogeyed 17th hole and was three shots ahead of the field at the 18th tee. She parred the final hole to finish with a 3-under-69 and become the first American in seven years to win the Open.

Corpuz began the week with a career earning of $1.2 million, but he enjoyed a $2-million payday on Sunday at Pebble Beach in California.

Nasa Hataoka shot the round of week on Saturday, a 66. She held the 54-hole leader but then shot a 4-over score and was tied for fourth place with Bailey Tardy. Charley Hull tied Jiyai Shim at 6 under par with a 66 of her own on Sunday.

The defending champion Minjee Lee finished tied for thirteenth after shooting a 75 on Sunday. Karrie Webb, in 2000 and 2001, is the only golfer to have won back-to-back U.S. women’s open.

In Gee Chun, who made a hole in one on the fifth hole of the U.S. Open Sunday, became the 33rd ace ever recorded.

This was her second major ace of 2023 after the one she scored at the Chevron Championships in April.

Rose Zhang shot 72 in her third round since turning professional. She finished tied for ninth. In her first three pro starts, she’s won and finished in the top 10 of majors on consecutive occasions.

Benedetta Moresco earned the low amateur award by finishing 8 over. She tied for 33rd. Four amateurs were selected and played on the weekend.
