Vincent Norrman, a Swede, became the second Swede to win the highest level on Sunday.
Norrman, a few hours after Linn grant won the LPGA event for the first, won his first PGA Tour competition, claiming Barbasol Championship 2023.
Norrman, who finished at 22 under par, bogeyed his 18th hole. He was also shaky on the final hole from the tee to the green. Norrman made the putt he needed in order to force extra golf. When they replayed 18th hole on first hole of playoff against Nathan Kimsey he parred while Kimsey recorded a bogey.
Norrman, who started the day behind in the lead, shot a final round 66 (including 30 on his first nine) to record his ninth consecutive under par round.
I don’t know if I can handle this for some time. “I’m at a loss for words,” said he of his victory in the tournament. “It’s amazing.”
Norrman’s winnings were $684,000. His career earnings in 22 previous Tour starts were $789 768.
