Adidas has reinvented its classic MC80 golf shoe, one of the most popular in the 1980s.
The MC80, a new spikeless silhouette, combines Lightstrike with Boost for increased comfort and stability. The shoe has a leather upper that features brogue stitching and croc texture throughout.
A Torsion bar is included on the outsole to give golfers additional control over torsion. Adidas has included a spikeless TPU outer sole for extra traction, with a rubber midsole to complete the look.
Adidas wanted to keep the retro look of this shoe without the weight and bulkiness. The new MC80 has a lightweight with a flexible insole and an Insite Pu upper to improve fit, comfort and stabilty.
The MC80 first appeared as part of Adidas x Bogey Boys a couple weeks ago through a limited edition model. The limited-edition colorways include a classic black and white, white with yellow accents and a white and light blue.
“Golfers are still interested in the styles of the past but also want shoes that offer performance on the course today,” said Masun Denison.
The personality and style MC80 was designed to give golfers a modern classic silhouette, but we were able include so many other benefits that golfers do not see. They will be surprised by how comfortable the shoes are right out of the package, and then notice the stability and grip along with the rich finish on the upper. We’re eager for golfers of all levels to try this unique model.”
Starting Tuesday, August 1, the new shoes MC80 will be available on Adidas.com and in select stores worldwide.
