On Wednesday, the Northern Irishman told the media that his schedule is pretty full in the run-up to Rome’s Ryder Cup.
“Yeah. I’ve got three weeks left, and then a week of rest, before I play the Irish Open. I’ll be playing Wentworth. After Wentworth, I’m going to Mykonos for a friend’s bachelor’s party. I then have a couple of days before the Ryder Cup to dry out.
“I have a six-out of-eight run that culminates with the Ryder Cup, where I hope to play lots of golf.” The two off-weeks will be crucial to conserve energy, manage my time and ensure I am ready to go whenever I need to.
McIlroy has been in great form as he heads into a crucial stretch of golf. He has seven top-10 finishes in a row, including a victory at the Scottish Open as well as a second-place finish at the U.S. Open.
