Sam Burns played college golf at LSU. The school is only 10 minutes away from Shreveport in Louisiana, where he grew up.
David Dusek, Golfweek’s equipment expert, caught up with Burns and asked him about his memories of playing golf at LSU as well as the atmosphere in the locker rooms during his college years.

Burns smiled when asked if Justin Thomas and he had been texting each other this week. Thomas played golf in Tuscaloosa. There have been many exchanges of comments.
