LOS CABOS (Mexico) — Ken Jowdy, a driver heading to the airport, was on his way to the airport in 2003 when his broker told him he needed to go see a property. The owner, who was 89-years-old, had rejected every offer he ever received.
Jowdy’s broker was the first person he called. He said, “you are my very first call. I replied, “OK, I will be back on Tuesday.” He replied, “You don’t get it.” This property will not be there on Tuesday if you don’t arrive right now. Jowdy said.
I turned around my car and met him on what was essentially a ranch. I got in his Jeep Liberty, and we drove around for 30 minutes before we made a deal.
Former baseball stars Roger Clemens, and Larry Walker are now golf members and owners. Jowdy, in an attempt to sway Walker’s testimony, asked him: “Isn’t this place amazing?” It wasn’t needed, as Walker’s love for Diamante could be felt.
“I went there once and purchased down a house, and now I spend half the year here,” Walker said. “I don’t live here because of the (lousy).” The people, the food, and the weather. It could be different every day.”
