Professional golf tours are on an annual vacation hiatus so it’s time to host another TV match.
Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods will face off against Jordan Spieth & Justin Thomas on Saturday, December 10, at 6 pm. ET under the lights of Pelican Golf Club, Belleair, Florida. McIlroy and Thomas will make it their Match debuts, while Woods will be making his third appearance.
Although The Match, which saw Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson face off in November 2018, Las Vegas, didn’t live up to its hype, it showed there was a market for this competition. The matches have become charitable causes for COVID-19 relief and the HBCU’s, while still offering golf fans an exclusive product other than 72-hole stroke play tournaments.
