Sahith Theegala was injured from Sunday’s first tee shot.
He pulled an oblique and it affected nearly every shot he took during the final round. Theegala clearly was in pain, especially with his driver and longer Irons.
But, it was the most important times that the pain subsided.
Theegala and Tom Hoge, Theegala’s partner, won the 2022 QBE Shootout at Tiburon Golf Club, Naples, Florida. They came from two down into the final round to win. Theegala made a birdie at the 18th hole. Charley Hoffman and Ryan Palmer, who were leading after the first round, couldn’t make their birdie puts on 18. This gave Theegala & Hoge the win.
Theegala & Hoge are the second ever winning rookie team at the QBE Shootout. The first pair were Keegan Bradley & Brendan Steele in 2011.
Nelly Korda made her QBE Shootout debut playing with Denny McCarthy. She chipped in for birdie at 18 to complete their second round. Korda’s hybrid off the fairway was a miss for eagle but she managed to dunk the birdie putt.

Korda, who will be playing alongside her father at the PNC Championship next week, and McCarthy tied for fifth at 27 over.
Lexi Thompson was the female professional in the field and shot 24 under. She finished T-10 with Maverick McNealy. This was the first QBE Shootout event to feature two women, but it is possible that this will change next year.
Matt Kuchar and Harris English shot 10 under Sunday, and Harris English was solo third at 32 under. Their tournament record of seven consecutive top-five finishes at the QBE Shootout is extended by this seventh appearance.
