The low is going.
Eric Axley’s performance on Wednesday, during the second stage of the PGA Tour Champions Q School Final Stage.
Axley started on the back nine of the Champions Course, at TPC Scottsdale. He eagled hole number 10, a par-5. Nice start.
He then went birdie-birdie-birdie-birdie-birdie-birdie to get to 8 under through six holes.
Axley cooled down with pars at the par-4 and par-5 18th holes. He still made the turn at 28 and is officially on the 59 watch.
It’s a remarkable turnaround from his first-round score of 1-under-70.
Axley is 49 years old and won’t be 50 until next April 22, but he’s competing for one of the five tour cards that will be awarded this week for 2024.
In 209 starts, he has won one Valero Texas open in his career and earned $3.2 million.
