Five tour cards for the 2024 season were up for grabs this week at TPC Scottsdale Champions Course.
The final Q School stage for the senior circuit gave 78 golfers a chance to secure their status for next year.
On Friday, 73 of these golfers had failed, including Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz, who was dead last with 22 over by eight shots, Dick Mast, 72, (who has shot or beaten his age twice this week), Notah Beay, Shakeel Micheel Ted Purdy Carlos Franco, Notah Begay and Bryan Hoops.
Those who placed sixth to 30th will still be able to qualify for the qualifiers if they apply for PGA Tour Champions Associate membership for 2024.
The top five finishers in the PGA Tour Champions 2024 season are exempt from all full-field, open events.
This is a closer look into what was a complete Australian takeover. Four of the five cards were awarded to Australian golfers.
