Our first ace at the Grant Thornton Invitational!
Lexi Thompson was fresh from making a birdie on the previous hole when she stepped up to the tee at the par-3 sixteenth hole of Tiburon Golf Club. This was Lexi Thompson’s and Rickie Foller’s fourth birdie on five holes.
Thompson wanted to know more.
She hit a 6-iron tee-shot from 155 yards and the ball hopped one time before it fell into the cup.
Thompson swung around and celebrated with Fowler, before giving high fives to the other members of his group. The shot brought the duo up to 16 under par, at that time one shot behind the leader.
