After Jon Rahm left for LIV Golf a day earlier, Tony Finau started to appear in rumor.
asked Finau at the Grant Thornton Invitational on Friday if he had any plans to leave the PGA Tour. Finau replied: “I don’t have anything to say.” I haven’t been notified of anything.
Minutes later, he was asked if he could respond to the name that had been floating around.
He replied, “No. Not yet.” I haven’t marinated anything other than playing now.
Rumors about Rahm, Hatton, and Finau joining a LIV golf team marinated.
Finau confirmed on Monday night that he would be returning to the PGA Tour by 2024. He posted a social media message addressing his stance.
Finau, a two-time winner in the last season, wrote that he was looking forward to “defending both Mexico and Houston!”
Finau and her teammate Nelly Koda tied in fourth place during the 16-team Grant Thornton.
