Fairway Woods: Fairway woods are some of the most difficult clubs to design, as engineers must deliver the desired flight and distance off the tee while also delivering the perfect shot off the turf. It’s not an easy task.
Callaway has studied the swings of thousands of golfers to develop the “Swing Codes” for the four Paradym ai smoke fairway woods. These codes map where different players with different abilities make contact.
As expected, the accomplished golfers made consistent contact with the ball in the middle of the hitting zone and delivered their club on a neutral path. The mid-and higher-handicappers, however, made contact across the face, and tended swinging from outside to inside. Callaway found that players who have trouble making solid, consistent contact often attack the ball at a steep angle. Golfers who are proficient only slightly swing down when they hit the fairway woods.
Callaway used artificial intelligence to optimize the performance of different players. Engineers used supercomputers to design and test thousands faces in order to determine which would provide a combination of ball speed and distance protection for mishits. Four faces were created, with thick and thin areas that are unique to each face. These four fairway woods, Paradym AiSmoke, now have these four faces.
Standard Paradym AiSmoke Max fairwaywoods will be available in 7-woods, 9-woods, and 11-woods. The carbon fiber crown helps reduce the weight of the clubhead and lowers the center-of-gravity. The original Paradym Max Fairway Woods were equipped with stainless steel reinforcing bars in the sole. By removing these, another 24 grams could be saved.
Callaway created the Paradym Ai smoke Triple Diamond for golfers with fast swings and excessive spin. The center of gravity is positioned forward, which increases ball speed and reduces spin. It also helps to produce a more piercing flight. The Triple Diamond fairway wood is smaller than other Paradym Ai Smoke fairwaywoods. Callaway chose a stainless-steel sole over a carbon-fiber sole, because the weight savings would be minimal.
Callaway’s Paradym AiSmoke Max D is a fairway wood with a draw bias that is available as a 3-wood, 3HL-wood, 5-wood, and 7-wood.
Callaway offers the Paradym Ai smoke Max Fast. It comes with a lighter grip and shaft, and is available in 3-, 5- and 7-woods.
