ORLANDO (Florida) — Jason Langer graduated last May from The University of Pennsylvania with a degree economics from The Wharton School. He landed a job as an investment banker in New York City. He was just 14 when he won the PNC Championship together with his father Bernhard. They won it again in 2019, matching Bernhard’s win with his son Stefan (2005, 2006).
Jason, 22 years old, is now back in the hunt for a third title with his dad. They are three strokes behind Mike Thomas and Justin Woods going into Sunday’s final round. Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods’ son, trails the Thomas’ by just two. Charlie, 13 years old, would set a new tournament mark if Team Woods wins.
He said that he was ready, even though I didn’t want him to be subject to such pressure so early. Bernhard said, “I can handle this,” and he was right.
Langer is a two-time major winner and has been crowned PGA Tour Champion 44 times. While the family rotates to determine who plays with dad, Jason injured his back in 2020 and was unable to defend, Langer’s sister took over.
Bernhard is now feeling unwell in Orlando and has a sore throat.

Jason was asked by his father what advice he gave him six years ago to be able to compete in this type of spotlight. He replied that he just wanted to enjoy the experience.
Jason said, “It’s such an awesome tournament, really unique,” and he added, “and you don’t get too often to be inside the ropes hitting a ball with your dad.”
