Waialae Country Club, Honolulu (site of the 2024 Sony Open Hawaii), was originally designed by Seth Raynor, a famous architect from the golden age, and opened alongside Kahala Beach in 1927.
The course was reconstructed several times, most notably in the 1960s when a hotel on the property was built. Over the years, architects Robert Trent Jones Sr. Desmond Muirhead, Rick Smith, and Tom Doak have made changes to the golf course.
This year, the layout that hosted the PGA Tour for its first time in 1965 will be 7,044 yards long with a 70-par. Note: For the Sony Open the standard routing has been altered, and the nines have been reversed in order to take better advantage of the sunset views. Below are the nines in the order they will be played at the Tour event.
