Jody Brothers has been appointed chief business and operations officer of the Epson Tour by the LPGA. Brothers, who has been with the PGA Tour since 2007, replaces Mike Nichols.
Mollie Marcoux Samaan, LPGA commissioner, said that Jody Brothers has been appointed Epson Tour Chief Business Operations Officer and was thrilled to be welcomed to the LPGA Executive Leader Team. “Jody’s vast experience in every level of golf and his passion for professional development tours makes him an ideal leader to ensure the continued growth of Epson Tour.
Jody will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Tour’s operations, both inside and outside of the ropes. Jody is a strong leader and we are certain that Seiko Epson Corporation, our dedicated partners and tournaments will reap the benefits of his leadership. We also believe Jody will give our players the best chance to realize their potential and play on the LPGA Tour.
The Epson Tour published its 2023 schedule last Thursday. It includes 22 tournaments as well as a record $4.9 million prize fund.
Brothers was most recently vice president of business development for the PGA Tour. He led his team in identifying and pitching multi-year title sponsorships.
Brothers stated, “After 16 years on the PGA Tour I am excited to join the LPGA Team and spend the next portion of my career working with the women’s game.” Brothers said, “I strongly believe in the development of golf, especially the promotion of women in the sport and equality among professional athletes.” Talented athletes from all over the world have the chance to compete and grow as they pursue their ultimate goal of playing on the LPGA Tour. I cannot express my excitement at the possibility to lead this Tour.
Brothers was a college golfer at California State University Chico. He graduated with a marketing degree. Before he became a professional golfer on the Dakotas Tour, Pepsi Tour, and the Golden State Tour, he worked as a club pro at Butte Creek Country Club and Mount Shasta Resort in Northern California.
Brothers joined the PGA Tour as director of business development at TPC San Antonio in 2007. Later, he was general manager of TPC Stonebrae, TPC Harding Park and tournament director for The Stonebrae Classic. He also served as executive director for The First Tee campaign, which aims to reach 10 million young people.
