Adam Long cannot miss the fairway
Literally.
Long broke the PGA Tour’s record for the most consecutive fairways hit in a single round on Thursday at the Port Royal Golf Club. Long found the shortgrass on his second par-5 hole to hit his 60th consecutive fairway. He had previously hit 56 of 56 fairways at the World Wide Technology Championship. This broke Brian Claar’s 1992 record of 59 straight straight fairways. His streak dates back to the final two holes of the Shriners Children’s Open.
Long actually hit all fairways on his front and back nines, bringing the total to 67 fairways in a row.
It could continue to grow.
