The PGA Tour’s first tournament at a Tiger Woods golf course was held this week.
How wide are the fairways in Los Cabos? Adam Long, who shot 56-of-56 fairways in the four rounds at the 2023 World Wide Technology Championship, became the first Tour player to achieve 100 percent driving accuracy since Brian Claar’s 1992 Memorial Tournament. Long finished T23 with 17 under par, 10 shots behind Erik van Rooyen.
It was an impressive performance, but it shouldn’t be a surprise since Long ranks 17th on the Tour in terms of driving accuracy at 65.48 per cent. Data Golf reports that 18 players were able to hit every fairway in the morning wave on Thursday. After the first round, nearly 90% of players hit all fairways. The Tour average for the entire season? 58.07 percent.
El Cardonal’s morning wave saw 18 players complete every fairway. The previous highest score (since 2015) on the PGA Tour was 13 at Trinity Forest, in 2019.
Preston Summerhays, who beat six players in his wave, hit every green and missed only one fairway.

Long has started 36 races this season, and has failed to make the cut in half. The last of his three top-25 finishes was in July, at the Barbasol championship (T-16).
