On Thursday, Scott, 33-seed, was tied with No. 13 Sam Burns was almost in the water with his tee shot at 11 on Thursday’s second day of group play at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play at Austin Country Club. The ball hit the flagstick, then the back of cup before it ricocheted back across the green and almost into the water hazards. Scott’s ball came to a stop just a few inches from the penalty area.

Scott almost made the birdie putt, but he settled for par and shared the hole with Burns.

The match was full of swings and emotions, but it was a whirlwind for Scott. Scott’s bad break did not result in him losing the match.
