Steve Williams and Adam Scott are bringing the band back together.

According to Golf Digest Williams will be returning to Scott’s side to take over the bag. This week’s Australian PGA Championship is at Royal Queensland in Brisbane. Next week’s Australian Open is at Kingston Heath and Victoria Golf Club, Melbourne. Scott will have Williams, regular caddie Greg Hearmon, share the role in 2023.

“It’s exciting for me to work with Steve again and see if it can rediscover magic,” Scott told Golf Digest. You go through different stages in your career as a player. The PGA Tour right now is a time when there’s a lot of change and I’m trying to adjust. Steve and Greg sharing a job will help me get all I need, and it’s going to allow me to be fresh at the most important events.

After a 12-year partnership that had produced 13 major championships, Williams was fired and the pair started working together in 2011. Scott had Williams on his bag from 2011 to 2017, and Williams helped Scott win the 2013 Masters. He also won the title of World No. 1. 1, in 2014.

Scott stated that his goal was to win majors. He had a great run with Steve in majors, and we did win Masters. But it’s about finding the right balance to be able to compete in the most important events. Steve is at a stage in his life when he would like to take a chance again. He finds it a great balance because it won’t take him a whole year to do this.

Scott has been a top-10 finisher in majors 10 times since his victory at Augusta National in 2013. The last was in 2019 at the PGA Championship, T-8) and U.S Open (T-7).

Scott was accompanied by Williams, who finished fifth at the 2013 PGA Championship in Oak Hill, New York and the 2014 British Open in Royal Liverpool, England. The PGA Championship will return to Oak Hill in 2023 (May 18, 21), and the Open to Royal Liverpool (July 20, 23). Woods won the Open at Royal Liverpool 2006 with Williams as his caddie.

Williams stated that “the time I spent caddieing Adam was very memorable; helping to become the first Australian winner at Augusta.” “I feel Adam’s game is in good shape, and I’m fresh from not having caddied for many years so I’ll bring lots of enthusiasm.

“I have always told Adam, and others, that to be remembered as a great player, you must win multiple majors. I would love to have Adam win major No. It would be an honor to try and get Adam major No. 2 and make him a member of a select group of historical players.
