Adidas’ MC87 4D golf shoes combine the latest technology with a classic design.
The shoe will turn heads thanks to its futuristic 4D middle and classic upper. This spikeless, gender-neutral shoe was inspired by the Tiverton shoe from 1987.
The Tiverton featured similar wingtip styling, brogue detail and croc texture in classic leather. The MC87 4D combines these traditional designs with a modern, water-resistant upper.
This is the first 4D midsole to be printed using Digital Light Synthesis. As the Ryder Cup is fast approaching, they’ve included a cobblestone sock lining as an ode the streets of Rome.
Masun Denison is the global footwear director at Adidas Golf. He said, “We’ve noticed that golfers are looking for more vintage designs over the past 18 months. We’re fortunate to have our archives as a source of inspiration, especially in our quest to be the leading golf brand in the industry.” We challenged ourselves to combine timeless aesthetics of the past with technology from today. MC87 was the result. This is a special silhouette that will excite golfers around the world. It will be a first in golf to use 4D technology.
Adidas designed this shoe to maximize energy return with its intricate lattice design. The shoe also features a spikeless rubber outsole with lugs that provide extra grip and traction for golfers. The MC87 will come with a removable kiltie.
