The Korda family is a dazzlingly talented group.
Nelly Korda is ranked second worldwide and she’s partnered with Jessica, her older sister who is 18th in Rolex Rankings. Petr Korda, Regina Rajchrtova, and their parents are both tennis stars.
Petr won the Australian Open once, two years before Sebastian, Sebastian’s youngest sibling, was born. Jessica’s first professional win was at Royal Melbourne in 2012 at Women’s Australian Open. Nelly followed that up in 2019 at Grange Golf Club with a victory in the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open.
Sebastian, a rising tennis star, won the 2023 Australian Open. He beat Daniil Medvedev, seventh, in straight sets. Sebastian, who knocked off No. 8 Medvedev.
In his post-match interview, he was asked about his family. In a passionate speech, he gave shoutouts for his sisters and their success down under. This was a touching speech that thrilled the Aussie crowd.
He concluded, “I’m certainly the worst athlete in my family so far.”
