Akshay Bhahatia won the Korn Ferry tour in his debut start.
Bhatia’s 36th attempt at winning on the PGA Tour was a little longer, but still not too much. He won the Barracuda Championship 2023, the last opposite-field tournament of the PGA Tour, in a play-off Sunday evening. Bhatia is the second left-handed golfer to win on Sunday after Brian Harman won the 2023 Open Championship.

Bhatia and Patrick Rodgers were tied at 40 points after regulation in the Barracuda Tournament, which is the only event on the Tour that uses the Modified Stableford score system. The big-hitting lefty won the tournament after one playoff hole at Tahoe Mountain Club Old Greenwood in Truckee.
Bhatia was in contention after his 17-point performance on Saturday. According to the points system, it tied for the third highest scoring day of this week.
Bhatia will also be exempt from the PGA Tour in 2025. He also jumps up to No. The FedEx Cup rankings have him at No. 90; only the top 70 players qualify for the Playoffs.
Bhatia becomes the 10th winner to win for the first time on Tour in this season.
