Amy Olson, a LPGA veteran, announced on Instagram on September 15 that she and her husband Grant welcomed Carly Gray Olson as their first child.
Olson wrote: “We are grateful and blessed to God for giving us good gifts!” This little bundle contains so many answers to prayers.
Olson, 31 played in the U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach in July while she was seven months pregnant. This was her final competitive event before she went on maternity leave.
Olson, an LPGA veteran who has been playing since 2014 and is a mother of two children, was unsure what her career would be like after becoming a mother.
Olson said, “I can’t say which I prefer. “I’m curious to see what happens. I am super, super grateful for all I’ve done out here. “I love it and I don’t think I will ever do what I have done for the past nine years, where I played 25 weeks of the year.”
Olson, who won 20 titles at North Dakota State University, is the most successful college golfer in history. Grant, her husband, is the special teams coordinator at North Dakota State and also coaches linebackers. He was a part of three NCAA Division I FCS National Championship teams as a Bison player, and three more as a Bison coach.
