The U.S. Women’s Open in 2023 will be special.
Pebble Beach Golf links will host the first women’s major in its history. Soon, the best female golfers from around the world will be competing for the Harton Semple Trophy on the Monterey Peninsula.
Amy Olson will be one of those on the field.
Olson won a USGA qualifying event at Somerset Country Club, Mendota Heights in Minnesota by shooting a 6-under-138 second round.
While earning medalist honors for her performance while six months pregnant is impressive, it takes the achievement to a whole new level.
“I wanted to take a shot because it was Pebble.” It was her main motivation, and this will be her last tournament before she has a baby.

Olson, who played in five majors last season but missed four cuts, tied for 60th place at the U.S. Women’s Open. She has tied for second in two majors: the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open, and the 2018 Evian Championship.
On July 6-9, she’ll be easy for you to cheer for.
