BELMONT (MI) — The third round at Blythefield Country Club of the Meijer LPGA Classic was nothing less than entertaining. Nobody was safe at the top of leaderboard.

Amy Yang of Korea maintained her one-stroke tournament lead after a strong performance. She birdied seven holes, and then overcame bogeys at 11 and 13. Four-times international champion, she has not yet won on American soil.

Yang admitted that he had mismanaged his putting speed. “I thought that it would trickle, but it did not… everyone makes mistakes, but i tell myself to have patience.”

Ashleigh Buhai from South Africa, Xiyu Liang of China and Ayaka Furue from Japan finished tied for second place at 14 under. Buhai’s birdie on 18 brought her back in contention for Father’s Day.

Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, Hyo Joo-Kim from Korea and Leona Maguire of Ireland are tied for fifth at 13 under.

Furue’s seemingly unstoppable victory has turned into a thrilling final round. The trophy is still up for grabs with a dozen players at 11 under par or better.
