Ashleigh Buhai is the face of South African women’s golf. Her career has been solid, and she won a major at the AIG Women’s Open in 2022.
Buhai played eight full-time Ladies European Tour seasons before earning her LPGA card. She won in both 2007 (her rookie season) and 2011. Buhai won five Ladies European Tour titles since she split her time between both tours.
Buhai won her first major title in 2022 at the AIG Women’s Open, after joining the LPGA during the 2015 season. Buhai, who beat Chun In Gee in the playoffs with a 10-under total of 274, won her first major with a par at the fourth hole.
Buhai won her first US LPGA Classic in June 2023. Buhai, who has won three major titles in the last calendar year, will defend her title at Walton Heath Golf Club, Tadworth, England.
