Oct, 2023

Ashleigh Buhai made the most of a low scoring day at Seowon Hills Country Club, Seowon Valley Country Club.

Buhai, who had taken five weeks off due to a back injury that flared up again, returned to the LPGA in style, posting a 10-under-62 and holding the lead after the first round of the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship. Buhai led Alison Lee after the first round of the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship by one shot. She had eight pars, 10 birdies.

Buhai, who took a break from work after a busy summer, said: “It was almost like a blessing in disguise.” “I had a week of training before coming here. My goal was to have no expectations and play without them. This is often the case when you want to do well in a match.

Buhai’s 62-hole round is her best ever. She will be the champion of AIG Women’s Open 2022.

Only 10 of the 78 golfers in the field shot above par. One of them was the young phenom Rose Zhang who shot a 2-over-par 74.

Lee’s performance of 9-under was also bogey free, with two separate stretches of 3 consecutive birdies. Ayaka Fuue and Minjee Lee tied for third place at 8 under.

Alison Lee stated, “Overall I was able to hit the ball very well.” “I made a lot putts within 15 feet, and I was able make them all.” I might have had one putt that wasn’t as long, say 25, 30 feet. “But other than that I had a lot good birdie chances today.”

Lydia Ko, who is the current champion, shot a 5-under-67.
