Brian Harman, the British Open winner and the champion golfer of the year for the past one year has added some firsts to his list of accomplishments.
Harman brought the Claret Jug with him to Augusta National Golf Club late in October, during the weekend preceding the annual Florida/Georgia Football Game. Kevin Kisner, a fellow Bulldog, and two other friends accompanied him on this trip.
Harman replied, “Just broing it out there.”
Kisner said Golfweek the Augusta National staff informed them that it was believed to be first time a winner brought the Claret Jug home to the Masters.
Harman told Golfweek, “I don’t know if this is the first time that it has happened and I feel bad for saying it.” “If they say that, great.”
He was confident that he could achieve a new first with Jug.
Harman told Golfweek, “It has been in my tractor.” I don’t think it has ever been in a tractor. We rode it around for a few minutes just to say that we had done it.
Harman might need to ask Louis Oosthuizen about the first place. He is the 2010 Open champion and a farmer.
Harman said that the most memorable part of his time with the Jug was being recognized on the field at Georgia’s nighttime home game against Ole Miss, in early November.
He told Golfweek, “That was awesome because my wife and child were with me.”
He said, “That was probably one of the highlights so far in the partying,” after his first round at The Sentry. It’s a great party trick. “It’s been fun to have it for a whole year.”
Enjoy it, he’s got.
Harman told reporters on Thursday that the span> style=”font weight: 400 ;”>” It’s an old relic, it’s antique. It’s a throwback to golfing history.
