Pajaree Annannarukarn made 12 birdies on 34 holes to win the Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play at Shadow Creek. Anannarukarn beat Ayaka Fuue in her championship match, and Linn Grant during the semifinals.
Two days before she turned 24, the Thai woman won her second LPGA championship. Her 2023 earnings will be $330,385. In her LPGA career, she has earned $1,966,317.
At the beginning of the week, 64 players were divided up into 16 groups of 4. After three rounds of round-robin, the competition was moved to a single-elimination bracket with 16 players.
This year, there was no consolation game. The NFL players Davante Adam, Mark Ingram Terry McLaurin, and Austin Ekeler instead played a charity nine-hole two-man scramble in conjunction with the championship match. The Play Like a Girl charity received a check of $40,000.
