While speaking to “The Hollywood Reporter”, actor Ben Affleck gave a quote about golf that most of us can probably relate to.
The 50-year-old was promoting his new movie called “Air” which explores the relationship between a young Michael Jordan and Nike and the emergence of the “Jordan” brand.
Affleck wanted to speak with Jordan and get his blessing to make the movie, and Jordan, who’s an avid golfer, chose to meet the actor on the golf course.
“I said, ‘Please, can I come out?’” Affleck asked Jordan.
“And he was great. ‘Yeah, no problem. Come to the golf course.’ Went out, met with him. I waited for him to finish playing. I don’t golf myself. Because I just feel like it eats people’s lives up.”
Then, Affleck compared golf to the drug meth.
“I look at golf like meth. They have better teeth, but it doesn’t seem like people ever come out of that. Once they start golfing, you just don’t ever see them again.”
Affleck knows the importance of getting the documentary on “His Airness” right.
“If you’re going to f–k around with talking about Michael Jordan, do it respectfully. Nobody’s asking you to do a hagiography but get it f–king right.”
