Brooke Henderson survives cut at Meijer LPGA Classic; Lexi Thompson and Lydia Ko don’t

BELMONT (Mich.) — The Meijer LPGA Classic has brought the world’s best golfers to the highest level of performance year after year.

This year’s Blythefield Country Club tournament has been especially tough for the LPGA Tour’s big names.

Many players missed the cut. With top players such as Jin Young Ko, Nelly Korda, and Rose Zhang, who is ranked number two in the world, not on the field this weekend, there will be a lack of star power.

Hyo Joo, Minjee Lee, and Brooke Henderson were the only players in the top 10 to make it through. They had to birdie 18, to do so.

After bogeying Nos. The score was 3-5, but a birdie at 18 allowed him to survive.

It’s amazing how many people came out to cheer us on. And it’s so fun to play before these large crowds. It’s a great thing that I have a lot of family, friends and cute little ones to support me. After two rounds, the cut was 2 below.

Ayaka Fuue of Japan took the lead on Friday with a 5-under-67. She is 11 under after two rounds. Amy Yang, Hyojoo Kim, Leona McGuire, and Carlota Ciganda are all one shot behind her at 10 under. Jennifer Kupcho, the defending champion, is two shots behind at 9 under. She’s joined by Lindsey Weaver Wright, Minjee Lee and Manon de Roey. Aditi Asok, Emily Kristine Pedersen, and Minjee Lee.

These are the names that didn’t make the cut.
