WINTER GARDEN (Fla.) – Bryson DeChambeau says that Tiger Woods won’t be inviting Justin Thomas to play a practice round at next week’s Masters.
LIV Golf has a few drawbacks. Rory McIlroy was a guest at Sergio Garcia’s wedding and has had a dispute with his Ryder Cup teammate. Keegan Bradley has also spoken out about the awkwardness of Brendan Steele’s departure for better pastures. DeChambeau had just completed his putting practice ahead of Friday’s LIV Orlando event. He suggested that he has received some backlash for accepting the money from Woods, the Saudi-backed league.
DeChambeau admitted that he was more of a solo player at tournaments. However, he said, “I was always kinda a guy who did everything myself so I didn’t have too many contact with too many players, but we are cordial.” Jordan (Spieth), anybody out there, Will Zalatoris, I’ve had a few conversations with, but no problems.”
DeChambeau was asked if anyone had cut him off.
DeChambeau chuckled.

DeChambeau answered the question, “Yeah. I’m not going throw anyone under a bus.” He has been a great friend. I sent him a text on his birthday. It’s what it is. He has his opinions and believes we are potentially damaging his record. His record is not going to be touched by anyone. That’s it. That’s the bottom line. There is a lot of potential to grow the game and I hope he will one day see the vision we all share here.
DeChambeau won both the 2020 U.S Open and eight PGA Tour titles, before signing with LIV in July reportedly for $125 million. DeChambeau is still involved in LIV’s lawsuit against the PGA Tour.
Woods has been playing on the Tour for over 30 years. He is tied with Sam Snead in career wins, and ranks as the Tour’s all-time top money winner.
DeChambeau, Orange County National’s president, said that “I miss nothing” before the LIV Golf Orlando event. It starts Friday. “I love my fans and the people who supported me. All of it was wonderful. Slowly but surely, we are starting to attract the crowds. People are beginning to understand the model and are beginning to like the teams. According to what I can see, there is a general consensus that things are moving in a positive direction. I’m happy about this.
