Adam Scott knows how close a performance by closing with a showstopper.
Scott eagled on the last hole for the second consecutive day at the 2022 ISPS Handa Australian Open. This was enough to surpass Adrian Meronk and give him the 54-hole lead in the DP World Tour event, Melbourne, Australia.
Scott was solid and smooth on Saturday to score a 67, just one day after scoring a 63.

Meronk birdied six of his eight first holes and was the best round scorer with a score of 63. Scott took the lead for a brief time before Scott’s heroics on the final hole.
Cameron Smith, the Australian PGA Championship’s third winner, admitted that he had not realized he would play on Saturday. also spent Friday night in a pub.
After Friday’s round, the event was reduced to 60 players and then to 30 players after the third round. He was late Friday night when he discovered he had an early tee on Saturday.
Smith stated, “I was quite quick to the pub after Friday’s round and, yeah, I was probably a couple of too many beers deep then I realized that we had an early Tee Time, so I got back in the waters and was a great boy the rest the night.”
He turned at 1-over 36 but returned home in 33. This was his best round of this week. However, it wasn’t enough to make the final cut.
“I thought that I had it in today, and hit a lot of great golf shots, but couldn’t really capitalize. Smith stated that it was not Smith’s week.
Jiyai Shin, on the women’s side, used a 67 for the lead after three rounds. Ashleigh Buhai was one stroke behind and Hannah Green was two.
