Cameron Smith has taken the phrase “ringing in the new year” to a literal level.
Smith, 30, will marry his girlfriend Shanel Naoum in Brisbane, Australia on December 30, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. Stephen. Over the holiday weekend, pictures of Smith with his trademark mullet began to circulate online.
Naoum, a chiropractor in Florida (where the two live), has been seen with Smith at various tournaments since his 2022 Players Championship win at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville.
Smith’s 2022 breakout season included three wins at the Sentry Championship, Players Championship and Open Championship. This was his first major win. He then took his talent to LIV Golf in the final months of 2022. Smith won three times and finished in the top five of eight starts on the Saudi-backed tour.
