Aug, 2023

The Grant Thornton Invitational will debut in December, as part of Challenge Season.

The event will replace the QBE Shootout and feature a 32 player field, including 16 PGA Tour players and 16 LPGA competitors, competing for a purse of $4 million. Conners, 31 years old, won his second PGA Tour victory at the Valero Texas Open in April last year. Conners also won this event at TPC in 2019.

Henderson, 25, who is from Naples, has won the most LPGA victories of any Canadian player on major professional tours, including her latest at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions last January in Orlando.

Conners and Henderson join Nelly Korda, Tony Finau, and Rickie Fowler with Jessica Korda as the third team pair announced for the Grant Thornton Invitational.

Since 2001, the QBE Shootout was played in Naples. Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson were the only women to compete in the QBE last year. Korda and her partner Denny McCarthy tied for fifth place. Lexi and her partner Maverick Mcnealy tied at 10th.

Sahith Theegala won the 2022 shootout, which was the first time that Norman had not hosted or played in the event since its founding. Norman said in an Instagram post that he had been asked to not attend the tournament due to his involvement with LIV golf.
