CBS has been long criticized for its broadcasts of golf. They are accused of little or no innovation and a boring viewing experience.
If the 2023 round is any indication, however, then golf fans should be pleased with the direction CBS is taking.
Max Homa volunteered to use a microphone during the third round at Farmers Insurance Open. The broadcasters asked him many questions throughout the segment to get a better understanding of his process and mindset.
It was a huge success. It was a success, in fact, Homa winning. Maybe others will follow their lead.
